Adult Wheelchair Basketball
The Pittsburgh Steelwheelers wheelchair basketball team is a member of the NWBA and competes against other teams in regional tournaments. The official season runs from September through April, though most players continue to train, practice, and play pick-up games throughout the offseason.
Who is eligible to play?
To be eligible to play, the athlete must have a physical disability that impairs lower limb functionality. If you have any questions about your eligibility, please reach out to us.
Practices
Practices are held at the University of Pittsburgh. The Steelwheelers have spare basketball wheelchairs that new participants can use. Please contact us for an up-to-date practice schedule.
Support
The Pittsburgh Steelwheelers wheelchair basketball team is organized and run through volunteer efforts, supported by donations of time and money from friends, family, and the community.
