WPTLA 5K

This 5K is an annual event that is hosted by the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association to help benefit the Steelwheelers.  This is a family friendly event that typically takes place in the fall at North Park in Allegheny County.

This event is a great way for people to come out and learn a little bit about the Steelwheelers and to see the kind of equipment that is used in the various adaptive sports, as well as to just get some exercise! It is also a great opportunity for anyone interested in participating in adaptive sports, as this is a rare occasion that you'll be sure to find representatives from each sport in attendance!

The 5K is split up into 3 categories: Run, Walk and Wheel (which is broken down further into the wheelchair and handcycle groups), and prizes are given out for the top 3 finishers in each category. There are also raffle and door prizes that are given out after the race, and refreshments are also provided. Please check the News and Media page for info on the upcoming 5K and how to sign up!

The Steelwheelers thank the members of the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association for the incredible support through the President’s Challenge 5K over the past 20+ years.  The success of the run can be attributed to the efforts of Chad McMillin, Chair of the President’s Challenge Committee, Laurie Lacher and the generosity of all the members of the WPTLA.  The Steelwheelers would probably not be here today if it were not for the WPTLA and the President’s Challenge 5K.
